Meet The Team

Jeff Stibbard

Jeff is the founder and CEO of the JDS Group of Companies. He is a mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in mine design, construction and operations. JDS is a mid-tier mine evaluation, design, construction and operating company with several related surrogates, employing in excess of 150 professionals. Prior to establishing JDS, Jeff served in various capacities by leading the development and operations of mining projects around the world including: Mine Manager for BHP’s Ekati Diamond Mine, General Manager of Mining for Albian Sands Energy Inc. in Fort McMurray, AB, and was a founding member of Western Oilsands Inc. – a 20% partner in the development of the Shell Muskeg River Mine in Fort McMurray. Jeff started his career in Canada at numerous mines in various positions including Production Supervisor at the Island Copper Mine in Port Hardy, BC, General Foreman at the Bell Copper Mine in Granisle, BC, and Mine Engineer at the Tartan Lake Gold Mine located in Flin Flon, MB.

Brent Gilchrist

Co-Founder & Executive Chairman

Brent is an accomplished finance executive with extensive experience in the investment and banking sectors. He is the President of JDS Resources Inc., the JDS Group of Companies’ venture capital and private equity arm responsible for investment management, acquisitions and project financing for JDS opportunities.

Brent was the President and Co-founder of JDS Silver Inc. (along with Jeff Stibbard, CEO), the owner, developer and operator of the Silvertip Mine located in Northern British Columbia. Brent and Jeff sold JDS Silver to Coeur Mining in November 2017.
Prior to joining the JDS Group of Companies in 2012, Brent led the management of individual portfolios at RBC Dominion Securities, the investment branch of the Royal Bank of Canada, for seven years.

Mike Glennon

CEO — CanMag Industries

Mike is a seasoned Mining & Energy executive with over 30 years experience in large scale mining and processing operations in magnetite, copper, gold, oil sands and diamonds. Mike’s management, operations and technical expertise have resulted in the successful completion of major projects around the globe. During his career, Mike has been involved in several multi-billion dollar projects. He held a senior operational position in the development of Canada’s first diamond mine and as a Senior Executive with a major Canadian oil producer, where he was responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive business plan for a $3 billion upstream oil facility. Early in his career, Mike held on the ground operational positions as a both a mine and plant superintendent. During his tenure in the Oil & Gas industry, Mike was named by the National Post as one of the 12 most influential executives in the Alberta Oil Industry. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science and MBA from Queen’s University and has completed post-graduate studies in International Business and Global Leadership

Kelso Cartwright


Kelso has over 10 years of finance and accounting experience, focused on public and private financial reporting in both Canada and the US. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Canmag Industries Inc. and was the former Corporate Controller for JDS Silver Inc., a private mining company that advanced from PEA to producer in three years and was acquired by Coeur Mining, Inc. in 2017. Prior to this, he spent a number of years with Deloitte LLP. Mr. Cartwright holds a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
